House Rules
Please read and follow these guidelines to ensure a comfortable and respectful environment for all guests.
General
No Smoking Indoors
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property and on the immediate premises. If you need to smoke, please do so near the curb away from the house. All cigarette butts must be properly disposed of in accordance with Canadian waste disposal regulations. Please do not leave butts on the ground or in planters.
Pet Policy
We kindly ask that guests not bring their own pets to maintain a comfortable environment for all visitors. Please note that our homestay is home to a friendly resident cat who may occasionally greet you. If you have allergies or concerns about cats, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
No Alcohol Policy
Alcohol consumption is strictly forbidden in the homestay at all times. The only exception is during special host-organized celebrations such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, or other holiday gatherings when the host may offer refreshments. Please respect this policy.
Conserve Water & Energy
Please be mindful of water and electricity usage. Turn off taps when not in use, take reasonable shower times, and switch off lights and appliances when leaving rooms.
Report Damages Immediately
Please report any damages, malfunctions, or maintenance issues to the host right away. You will not be charged for normal wear and tear, but intentional damage will be billed.
WiFi Usage
WiFi is provided free of charge. Please use it responsibly and avoid excessive bandwidth consumption. Do not share the WiFi password with non-guests.
Personal Belongings
The homestay is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. Use lockers if provided, and keep valuables secure in your room or safe.
Noise
Quiet Hours
Please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. We have other guests who may be resting, working, or sleeping. Respect for others ensures everyone has a comfortable stay.
No Parties or Events
The homestay is a residential space, not a venue for parties or events. Large gatherings and loud music are not permitted.
Kitchen
Kitchen Use - Breakfast Only
The kitchen is available for breakfast preparation only (coffee, tea, toast, cereal, etc.). Please do not cook full meals. After use, wash your dishes, clean countertops, and put items back where you found them. The kitchen is a shared space, so keeping it tidy is essential for everyone.
Refrigerator Use - Breakfast Items Only
You may store breakfast items (milk, juice, butter, etc.) in the shared refrigerator. Please label your items with your name and date. Do not use other guests' food without permission. Dispose of expired items promptly. The refrigerator is for breakfast items only, not full meal storage.
Visitors
Visitor Policy
Visitors are allowed in the common areas for a limited time only, with prior notice specifying the number of people and expected visiting hours, which must be between 12 PM (noon) and 9 PM, and overnight stays are not permitted.
Safety
Secure Your Belongings
Please note that room doors do not have locks for safety reasons (fire emergency access and medical emergencies). We recommend keeping valuables secure and not leaving expensive items unattended. The main entry doors are locked at night for house security. Report any security concerns immediately.
Room Access & Privacy
Room doors do not have locks to ensure emergency access in case of fire or medical situations. We respect your privacy and will knock before entering. Please keep the main entry door closed and do not share house access with non-guests.
Fire Safety
Familiarize yourself with fire exits and evacuation procedures. Do not block fire exits or tamper with smoke detectors. Never use candles or open flames in your room.
Cleanliness
Keep Your Room Clean
There is no housekeeping service - guests are responsible for keeping their rooms clean. Please make your bed, dispose of trash properly, and maintain good hygiene standards. A vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies are available upon request if you need them.
Proper Waste Disposal
Separate trash into recyclables, compost, and general waste. Follow local recycling guidelines. Take out trash bags when full and use the designated bins outside.
Guest Responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your room clean throughout your stay. Cleaning supplies and a vacuum cleaner are available upon request. The host will always knock before entering if necessary. Please maintain your space in good condition.
Shared Spaces
Respect Shared Spaces
Common areas like the living room, bathroom, and kitchen are for everyone. Please be considerate of others, avoid monopolizing spaces, and leave them clean after use.
Laundry Etiquette
If using shared laundry facilities, promptly remove your items after the cycle completes. Clean the lint filter and wipe down machines after use. Follow posted schedule if applicable.
Check-in/Check-out
Check-In & Check-Out Times
Check-in is from 2:00 PM onwards, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out must be arranged in advance and may incur additional fees.
